Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures Marvel's The Avengers-the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. Will fans be in seventh heaven, as the ultimate super hero team up is here and can it live up to expectations?

When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. Marvel's The Avengers is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series The Avengers, first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when Marvel's The Avengers assemble in summer 2012. In Marvel's The Avengers, superheroes team up to pull the world back from the brink of disaster when an unexpected enemy threatens global security.

The star of this ensemble cast is once again the excellent Robert Downey Junior , who as Tony Stark is still the playboy millionaire with a tongue in cheek and a wicked way with words. He is given a good run by Mark Ruffalo who finally brings THE HULK the fans have awaited so long for. He is the show stealer, and is just an extravaganza of destruction. Chris Evans also gives us an excellent Captain America, who is still coming to grips with the world he finds him self in. Chris Hemsworth is excellent as Thor. Scarlett as Black Widow is sexy and ready to kick arse. Tim Hiddleston as Loki is a cool villain, in the classic Bond villains of the past and the only let down is Jeremy Renner as Hawk eye. Sameul L Jackson oozes cool and gets involved in the action this time.

Direction wise Joss Whedon has done for Marvel what Chris Nolan has done to the Batman films. He has set the bar very high for future Marvel films and being a huge comic fan helps, as he has given fans an excellent action film. The film is an orgy of action , extravagance ,huge fight scenes and excellent humour.

Hail Joss for doing a brilliant job.

The Avengers is most defiantly the ace in the summer blockbuster season. A must watch for all comic book/action fans. I cannot wait for the sequel!

I now leave it to you to make your own minds up.

Verdict: Box office smash 4/5
